Archiving tutorials

Archiving face-to-face and online peer tutorials at the London Metropolitan University Writing Centre

The aim of this study is to develop an archive of various face-to-face and online peer tutorials that take place at the London Metropolitan University Writing Centre. Through our research over the past three years, we have learnt that different types of learning takes place within this context. It is, therefore, important to develop an archive of sample tutorials that can help researchers, educationalists and students to learn more about this type of learning in Higher Education in the UK. It is proposed that tutorials will be tape-recorded over a period of four weeks in the Autumn term 2009 and four weeks in the Spring term 2010, with the aim of covering a variety of disciplines.

Project status:

Around 25 tutorials were tape-recorded over the Autumn term and are currently being transcribed. It is anticipated that we will continue to record tutorials in the Spring term to build the archive covering more students and disciplines.
